At Touch Nature, we seek to empower Kolkata's trafficked women by creating jobs that are dignified and sustainable, and that provide career opportunities. Our ladies undergo training to develop their skills capacities, and some are groomed to take on administrative and managerial positions. We ensure that wages and working hours are fair, and working conditions are safe and healthy. All our staff also receive health care and childcare.
We place emphasis on inner-healing and the well-being of our staff as we journey with them through the stages of healing. Counselling and inner-healing services are readily available to our staff, and we also strive to bring hope and joy through the creation of a workplace family. Occasionally, we organise staff retreats to facilitate bonding and friendships as well as to boost the morale of our staff. By creating a safe and warm family, we are building up a network of women who can support each other and provide help to other women who are still trapped in the trafficking industry.
Touch Nature’s products are environmentally friendly as they are made without chemicals and synthetics that are harmful to the environment. Our packaging and products are biodegradable to ensure a minimal impact on the environment. We have attained the 'Green Category Industry' status because of our natural ingredients, biodegradable materials and no-wastage production processes. Through embracing these Fair Trade principles, we strive to end the vicious cycle of poverty and trafficking that entrench the lives of many women and their families.
